The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effectiveness of emotion regulation and time perspective therapies on high-risk behavior in adolescents. The research method was quasi-experimental design (pre-test, post-test and follow-up with control group). The statistical population of this study consisted of all male seventh to twelfth grade students in the Gilan-E-Gharb city (N=1050). The statistical sample included 51 adolescents with anxiety symptoms who were replaced in three groups of emotion regulation therapy, time perspective therapy, and control group. Both two experiments were under treatment within 8 sessions of 90 minutes. The Checklist of Risk Behaviours for Youth (CORBY, Armstrong, 2012) was used to collect data. Analysis of variance with repeated measure and Tukey and Bonferroni post hoc tests were used to analyze the data. The results showed that emotion regulation and time perspective therapies were effective in reducing the high-risk behavior (P<0.001); But, there was no meaningful difference between two therapies (P>0.05). Based on the results, emotion regulation and time perspective therapies are recommended to reduce high-risk behavior in adolescents.

The aim of the present study was to test the effectiveness of the combined treatment of self-compassion and lifestyle modification on the Psychological Distress in obese women. The research method was a semi-experimental pre-test-post-test type with a control group and a two-month follow-up. The statistical population of the research included all women with BMI ≥ 25 referring to nutrition centers in Qazvin city in 2023. 60 participants in the research were selected by voluntary sampling and meeting the entry criteria, and then randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups (30 people). The experimental group received 12 sessions of 2 hours for 4 weeks as a group combined therapy of self-compassion and lifestyle modification. To collect data, Body Mass Index (BMI) and Depression-Anxiety-Stress Questionnaire(DASS.21, Lavibond and Lavibond ,1995) were used. Finally, the data were mixed by variance analysis and analyzed with spss-24 software. The results showed that the combined treatment of self-compassion and lifestyle modification reduced stress and depression (P<0.05). Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the combined treatment of self-compassion and lifestyle as a replacement package is effective in reducing psychological distress (stress and depression) in women suffering from obesity.

This research was conducted with the aim of investigating the effect of sleep deprivation on memory function in the morning sleep type of girls students in the dormitory of Kermanshah City. The current research is a semi-experimental type with a pre-test-post-test design and a control group. The current research population includes all female students of the dormitory in the academic year of 2019. The initial research sample consisted of 200 female dormitory students who were selected through available sampling. The research tools include the Wechsler Memory Scale (WMS;Wechsler; 1939) and the Morning-Evening Questionnaire (MEQ; Horn; & Östberg, 1976). The covariance analysis of the data showed that there is a significant difference in the memory performance variable between the experimental and control groups (P<0.01). Considering that the average of the experimental group compared to the control group had an effect on the dependent variable; sleep deprivation has an effect on memory functions in the morning sleep type. The results showed that sleep deprivation causes impairment in memory functions and weak memory function; so it can be concluded that sleep deprivation has led to a decrease in memory function.

This research studied the effectiveness of group story therapy on the externalizing behaviors of female students with oppositional defiant disorder. The research method was semi-experimental (pre-test-post-test with a control group design). The sample includes 32 people (16 people in each group). They were selected through the screening of 400 female students in first and second grades of primary schools in the first district of Tabriz, by clustered sampling, implementing the Child and Adolescents Behavior Inventory (CABI, Achenbach & Rescorla, 2007). They were randomly assigned to the groups. After the implementation of the pre-test, the experimental intervention, and the post-test, the data were analyzed using multivariate covariance analysis. The findings showed that story therapy reduced the externalizing behaviors and the components of hyperactivity/impulsivity, law-breaking, and aggressive behavior among female students with oppositional defiant disorder(P<0.05). It was concluded that story therapy could be used to treat the externalizing behaviors of female students and its effectiveness could be studied among male students and on other disorders.

The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral education on psychological well-being and social and adaptive performance of children. The research design is a semi-experimental and pre-test-post-test with the control group. The statistical population in this research is all children of the boy aged 12 to 18 years old referring to the welfare authorities of Rasht city in the year 97-96. In this research, 50 children of work from the Guilan-sponsored institution were selected Then, for the experimental group 18 and the control group, 12 subjects who obtained lower scores in psychological well-being and social/adaptive performance were randomly selected and placed in two groups of experiments and control. The instruments used included the Ryff’s Psychological Well-Being Scale (RPWBS, Ryfff, 2002) and The Child and Adolescent Social and Adaptive Functioning Scale (CASAF, Price et.al, 2002) in the pre and post educational phases. Cognitive and behavioral education was presented in 8 sessions for the experimental group, but the control group did not receive any training and then the follow up test was performed. The results of MANCOVA indicated that cognitive-behavioral education has a significant effect on improving social and adaptive performance and psychological well-being of children in labor (P<0/01). Therefore, cognitive and behavioral education can be used to promote the quality of life of child labor.

The aim of the present study was to examine the effectiveness of social skills training on self-esteem and sociall skills of female students with emotional and behavioral difficulties. The statistical population consisted of all female students of the third and fourth grades in Tehran, Iran. The participants included 20 female students (10 in experimental group and 10 in control group) were selected by avaliable sampling method. Rutter’s Behavior Scale for Parents and Teachers (RBSPT, Rutter, 1976), The Matson Evaluation of Social Skills with Youngsters (MESSY, Matson & Ollendick, 1988) and The Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory (CSEI, Coopersmith, 1967) were utilized in this study. In this study quasi-experimental research design was used. A program of social skills training was conducted for the experimental group in ten sessions (75 minutes each) in a period of one month. The Covariance analysis indicated that social skills training were significantly effective in enhancing self-esteem and social skills in the experimental group. According to the findings, social skills training may be suggested as an effective method for enhancing self esteem of elementary students.
